Position Summary Direct responsibility for driving material and procurement efforts. Ensures material supply to mfg operations which meet the needs of the customers while leveraging our spend and optimizing inventory levels. Serves as organizational subject matter expert on negotiations, sourcing, warehousing, vendor management and cost reduction. Responsibilities: Oversees inventory, purchasing, planning, replenishment, distribution and transportation functions. Provides strategic leadership to establish an integrated supply chain function. Build strong relationships with suppliers, service providers and executive leadership to generate cost savings and add value for purchases. Identify key opportunities and sets initiatives regarding demand management procurement. Develop, prioritize and execute sourcing strategies in line with corporate goals. Accountable for large special projects and procurement initiatives. Development and implementation of purchasing authority guidelines. Implementing supplier evaluation and selection criteria. Identifying personnel development issues and implementing development plans. Establishing performance expectations of employees and conducting annual reviews. Analyzing spending patterns and providing data for Key Performance Criteria. Coordinating communication and maintaining relationships with other business functions; AP, Collections etc. Defining and developing buyer operating procedures. Gathering and reporting procurement/material management cost savings and avoidance contributions. Driving formal contract management. Resolution of supplier quality issues. Implement indexing and material hedge strategies.The ideal candidate must have significant experience with: Minimum of 5-7 years experience leading or managing purchasing groups. Experience in a manufacturing environment required. Supply chain business practices. Cost management and negotiations Gap analysis and business problem solving skills. Strategy development and implementation. Advanced proficiency in Computer Analytics specifically MS Excel and Microsoft Projects required. Preferred experience Laminated products experience a plus. Experience purchasing wood, aluminum or resins a plus.The candidate must exhibit the following personal attributes: Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
