Granite Installation - Technicians & Installers Profile
Among the task for granite installation is to take
the sections processed by fabrication,
and mount these stone sections into the proper configuration
to form a continuous counter.
Granite Installer Technicians have different skill sets,
for example, there may be helpers, for demolition of
the prior counter and to perform other tasks and procedures,
and lead installers who oversee the project. Although
an estimator might well be an intermediary with the
customer.
There are concentrated physical requirements for installation
positions. The installer
must be able to work in challenging postures and
carry about heavy loads, often in excess of 120 pounds,
and
take
all safety
precautions.
They
must be able to make and read accurate measurements
and possess an active visual discernment. With the ability
to prepare underlayment surfaces, reinforce counters
where
needed
and make recommendations for doing so, establish level
granite surfaces across entire areas and closely
mix colors to match stone seams where needed.
Communicating abilites are vital,
since installers are a link between the dealer/shop
and the customer. Frequently at the jobsite, they must
be effective listeners problem solve effectively with
the customer.
Required experience is generally 2-3 years depending
on the position sought.
