Interior Painting & Painters Profile
The professional at interior painting is a specialist
within the field. This painter is focused on the achieving
a clean finished product that may interact with vacant
or occupied living surroundings.
It requires the safe and efficient movement of furniture
items, the ability to take extra care with protecting
existing elements with masking procedures, plastic sheeting
and drop cloths, and erecting curtains where needed
to effectively partion off areas.
The painter uses methods and techniques
for surface preparation, including patching, sanding,
priming and
caulking, and ways of applying primer and finish/top
coats in accordance with professional accepted standards.
Certainly a lead or foreperson, should
be adept with the planning of phased
procedures for preparation, coating and inter-prep.
Too, since occupants are frequently
present
around
the jobsite,
the painter must have the
ability to meet deadlines consistently.
The painter must be able to read and interpret detailed
elavations of blueprints, for the finishing of wall
and ceiling surfaces, trim, doors, custom
millwork and casings.
Many interior painters apply fauxs
and special finishes (considered among the greatest
of skill levels) while others are spray technicians
who put on smooth level enamels
or production-finish
walls. Yet, maintenance technicians are sometimes charged
with putting on a coat to clean things up a bit.
Forpersons
and project managers are often painters themselves,
performing and monitoring the work in real time.
This is not an advertisment to fulfill any current or future position.
